What's coming at e-m Subject description: This is a pre-release for review by e-m members |

What's coming - soon
It's time for some significant improvements. This post is to let you know what's in the works. Soon, we will launch some new features we hope will make the site more useful for our community of musicians and experimenters, and people who appreciate them.
Playlists for everyone
Soon, every audio file posted on the forum can be added to a playlist. Every user can create playlists for their own listening and/or to share. Each audio attachment will have an "Add to playlist" button right where you see it in a post. On the media page you will be able to select tracks and add them to a new or existing playlist.
Your playlists will be listed on your profile. You will be able make as many playlists as you like. You can put the tracks in any order. You will be able let a friend, or a whole group, edit a playlist with you. Every playlist will have its own public page that anyone can see, and your profile will show a link to your playlists. Playlist will have their own unique URL, and any playlist will be possible to include on our radio stations.
Listening
Playlists, and any single track, will play in a new small pop-up player. The radio page will have a fresh look. There is also a new player for mobile devices which will play any of our radio stations or any playlists separately.
Your playlists can become a station
The radio stations are now programmed from playlists, but only admins can create them and schedule them for the radio stations. If you build playlists you are proud of, you'll be able to submit them to be included on our existing stations. You can have your own station, or a station for your band or organisation. Each will have a dedicated URL, or link. You can print the QR code on your card when you tell people about your music.
Private messages to groups
You can send a PM to a whole group by putting the group's name in the To: field. When you get a group message, you can reply to the sender or to the whole group.
What stays the same
The forum, posting your music, and the stations you know are not going away. Everything you have posted stays where it is.
When
We will make all these changes in one maintenance evening in the next month. We will announce the date and time here before it happens.
One more thing. The site will get a new address: electro-music.org. The old .com address will keep working and will bring you here. This site has always belonged to its community, and the .org name is more appropriate - we have never been and never will be commercial.
We hope you will enjoy these new things that will make it easier to host your music and make it easier for people to hear it. Questions and thoughts are welcome in this thread. We have a development server for testing and debugging. If you'd like to help, please send me a PM. _________________ --Howard

I really like all these changes. Thank you for all these years of work on electro-music. I do still lurk here and there and have been privately talking with several members of our community so I am still very much alive & active.

Bill, brillant hearing from you! I was going to promote the new features last night but some bugs showed up during "final" testing. I'd rather get it right than quickly.
Anyway, thanks for checking in. _________________ --Howard

Thanks Howard ! Happy to see you so active. I will do my best to make it to the next NEEM FEST event. I am building up some new modular and desktop synthesis equipment. I have to post some pictures in the forum of my latest builds.
